A HOMEOWNER arrested for a public order offence had turned to drink after she was incorrectly served with an eviction notice, a court heard.

Mother-of-two Stella O'Byrne was charged after she hurled abuse at paramedics during a drunken episode at her local civic centre in Ballymun.

Dublin District Court was told she had a large mortgage and was told she was being evicted but when nobody came to collect the keys, she discovered there had been a mistake.

Judge Anthony Halpin put her on a bond to keep the peace for a year.

O'Byrne, of Shangan Gardens, Ballymun, pleaded guilty to public intoxication on October 1.

Gardai found her highly intoxicated, rolling around and verbally abusing paramedics.
