WOMAN AVOIDS BAN FOR HAVING NO INSURANCE

A MOTORIST caught driving without insurance after she was ordered to move her car by her mother has avoided a disqualification.

Christina Devlin (26) claimed she needs her driving licence so she can take her children to school.

A court heard she was moving the car down the street to her house after she had a row with her mother and was told to move the vehicle from her front garden.

Judge Anthony Halpin fined Devlin €300 but did not disqualify her from driving.

The defendant, with an address at Hazelgrove, Tallaght, admitted before Tallaght District Court to driving without insurance.

SAVING

Gda Neil Waters said he stopped Devlin driving a red Nissan Almera at Hazelgrove at around 6pm last September 5.

Defence solicitor Michael Hennessy said she was saving to buy insurance and to put the car through the NCT.

He said the car was seized by gardai and Devlin did not get it back.
