Widow 'still grieving' when she shoplifted

A WIDOW was still grieving for her husband when she stole cosmetics on the anniversary of his death, a court has heard.

Natalie Keating (58) had been lavished with gifts by her late husband and went to the store and took goods including a tester perfume bottle.

Judge Michael Walsh left her without a conviction after she made a €100 charity donation.

Keating, of Ardmore Park, Artane, pleaded guilty to stealing from Brown Thomas in Grafton Street on February 8.

Gardai were called and told the accused had left and not paid for cosmetics.

Keating told them she had not taken anything else, but two more items were found when she was searched.
