A BRICKLAYER with a string of previous no-insurance convictions has been put off the road for 40 years.

Ian Morris (27) was fined €500 and Judge John Coughlan disqualified him from driving for 40 years.

The defendant, of Rossfield Drive in Tallaght, admitted before Tallaght District Court to driving without insurance or a driving licence at Fortunes- town Lane, Tallaght, last October 26.

The court heard Morris has 24 previous convictions, including five for driving without insurance.

Defence solicitor Michael Hennessy said Morris, a qualified bricklayer, wished to apologise to the court for his behaviour.

Mr Hennessy also said Morris has spent time in custody since this incident.
