Two young men have appeared in court charged with violent disorder in west Dublin.

Gavin Slattery (28) and Jack Slattery (18), both of St Ronan's Gardens, Clondalkin, are charged with one count of violent disorder.

The offence is alleged to have happened in Orchard Road, Clondalkin, on November 4.

The charges allege that both accused committed the offence with each other and a third man.

It is alleged they used or threatened to use unlawful violence causing fear in others for their safety.

Evidence

The accused appeared at Blanchardstown District Court, where evidence of their arrest charge and caution was submitted by certificate by Gda Sgt Maria Callaghan.

Judge David McHugh adjourned the case to a date in January for the directions of the Director of Public Prosecutions to be made available.

Matthew Kenny, defend- ing, consented to the ad-journment.

The accused have not yet indicated how they intend to plead to the charges.

Both men were remanded on bail.
