A MAN charged with recklessly discharging a firearm at a farm in north County Dublin has been sent forward for trial to Dublin Circuit Criminal Courts.

Richard Lowndes (54) of Kilsallaghan and now living at an address in Co Monaghan appeared before Balbriggan District Court accused of recklessly discharging a firearm at Fieldstown, Kilsallaghan on April 12, 2012 under Section 8 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act.

A State solicitor served the Book of Evidence on the accused who has now been sent forward to the present sitting of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Judge Dermot Dempsey gave Lowndes the alibi caution, warning him he has 14 days to provide to the State details of anyone he proposes calling as witnesses in his defence.

Judge Dempsey remanded Lowndes on his own bond of €300 to appear before Court 5 at the Criminal Courts of Justice on July 10.
