THREE men have been sent for trial in connection with an attack on a man who allegedly had his head stamped on after he was struck with a hurley.
Leroy Roche (formerly Dumbrell – 27), Glen Kiely (27) and Liam Butterly (20) are accused of taking part in an attack on father-of-one Wayne Keogh, who was allegedly set upon and assaulted as he fled down a street in Ballymun.
They had evidence served on them at Dublin District Court.
The incident is alleged to have occurred at Balcurris Road West, Ballymun, last November 27. Judge Hugh O'Donnell sent all three for trial to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Gardai had objected to bail for Mr Roche and Mr Butterly, but Judge O'Donnell granted it subject to conditions. There was no objection to Mr Kiely's bail.
Det Ronan McMorrow said it was alleged that Mr Keogh was assaulted in the incident, though no assault charges were brought.
