The trial of a woman accused of murdering her brother is expected to last for five days, the court has been told.
Caroline Brennan (19) of Love Lane, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny, is charged with murdering Michael Brennan (22) at Barrack Street, Castlecomer, on December 30, 2008.
Her case was mentioned at the opening of Central Criminal Court sessions in Waterford where prosecutor Michael O'Kelly said the case would take four to five days to hear.
Judge Paul Carney put the case back until tomorrow and told a jury panel to return at that time when a decision will be made about when the trial can get under way.
Brennan was in court yesterday but was not asked to speak. She is on continuing bail.
Michael Brennan died after being stabbed in the chest after a party.
