Teenager charged over dad's gun death is bailed

A TEENAGER charged over the death of a father-of-two in a shooting at a house in west Dublin has been remanded on continuing bail for four weeks for DPP's directions.

Craig Mullarney (18) was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm following the death of Kris Emmett (21) in an incident in Clonsilla last week.

Mullarney, of Sheepmore Avenue, Clonsilla, was previously freed on bail, which was set at €5,000.

The offence is alleged to have happened at Mr Emmett's family home at Fortlawn Park, also in Clonsilla.

Conditions

Sergeant James Cussen told Blanchardstown District Court that a file is being prepared and will be sent to the DPP for directions in relation to the charge.

He asked the judge for four weeks for DPP's directions.

Judge David McHugh remanded Mullarney on continuing bail to appear before the court again in March.

A number of conditions have been attached to Mullarney's bail. He must sign on daily between 9am and 9pm at his local garda station and he also has to observe a curfew between 10pm and 8am.
