Teen sent for trial on phone charges

A TEENAGER accused of stealing a man's mobile phone in Dublin's busiest shopping street has been sent forward for trial.

Gracia Lulendo (19) is alleged to have snatched the Samsung Galaxy phone, worth an estimated €400, during an incident in Grafton Street just before Christmas 2012.

The accused, of Park Boulevard, Tyrrelstown, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with robbery.

The alleged incident occurred on December 9, 2012.

A state solicitor said the book of evidence had been served on the accused, who goes forward to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Judge David McHugh gave Lulendo the alibi caution, warning him he had 14 days to provide to the State details of anyone he proposed calling as a witness in his defence.

REMANDED

Defence solicitor Matthew Kenny and one junior counsel were assigned on free legal aid.

The judge remanded Lulendo on bail to appear before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on April 4.
