Teen accused of club attack with high-heeled shoe

THIS is the teenager accused of attacking another woman with her high-heeled shoe in a nightclub.

Maria Quinn (19) is alleged to have left the victim with a bruised right lip, and cuts and bruising to her arms.

Judge Dermot Dempsey adjourned the matter to a date in September for hearing.

Quinn, of Camira, Mountmellick in Co Laois, appeared before Swords District Court accused of assault. The alleged incident took place at The Slaughtered Lamb pub on Main Street in Swords, on May 16, 2012.

The accused is alleged to have assaulted a 22-year-old woman with her shoe.

The matter was before the court for hearing, but defence solicitor Aengus McCarthy said there was a potential witness with whom he was trying to get in contact.

State solicitor Ann Collins said she would be unhappy with the matter going ahead without the witness – a member of staff in the pub – being in court, as she may wish to cross-examine him.

Judge Dempsey adjourned the matter to September.
