Suspect in court on charges of having three pistols in his home

THIS accused was allegedly found by gardai with three unauthorised pistols in his northside home.

Philip Hendrick (34) is accused of having the firearms without a valid firearms licence. The accused appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with three counts of possession of a firearm without a certificate.

The alleged incident took place at his home at Crannogue Close, Poppintree on February 7 last.

It was claimed that Hendrick had three firearms in his house, namely an 8mm Starter pistol and two 8mm Brigadier pistols.

Sgt Maria Callaghan told Blanchardstown court that DPP's directions in relation to the allegations are not yet available. She asked the court for four weeks to get DPP's directions.

Hendrick's solicitor Danny Nolan said there was consent to the matter being adjourned for four weeks.

Judge David McHugh adjourned the matter to a date in April for DPP's directions.
