'Stun gun and spray in house'

A DUBLIN man has appeared in court charged with the unauthorised possession of a stun gun and a canister of pepper spray.

Leslie Higgins (41) was allegedly found with the weapons in his bedroom after detectives raided his house.

Judge Ann Ryan adjourned the matter for six weeks to allow Higgins speak to his solicitor.

The defendant appeared before Dun Laoghaire District Court charged with two counts of unauthorised possession of firearms.

The alleged incident took place at Higgins' home at Mackintosh Park, Pottery Road in Dun Laoghaire.

Garda Sergeant Peadar McCann said gardai obtained a search warrant and searched the defendant's home.

Sgt McCann alleged that gardai found a stun gun and canister of pepper spray in the defendant's bedroom.
