Student attack on rugby stars

A business student who attacked three teenage Argentinian rugby players in a drunken assault has been given a three-year sentence.

Sean Flood (20) hit out with what is believed to be a key after consuming alcohol and head shop drugs.

Flood, of Rathmines Close, Upper Rathmines, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to assault causing harm to the three young men at Club 21, D'Olier Street, on October 10, 2010.



Chinese ran cannabis plot

TWO MEN have been jailed for two and a half years for their roles in a €400,000 cannabis operation.

The men had been living for weeks in in a warehouse where they tended to 1,000 cannabis plants.

Chinese nationals Neng Wen Zheng (39) and He Xue Ji (29), both of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to cultivation of cannabis without a licence at Cookstown Industrial Estate on March 2.



Boy (16) 'had heroin, bullets'

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was found with heroin and bullets in his underpants after he was arrested for drug dealing, a court heard.

The south Dublin boy had already admitted Public Order Act offences, possessing a knife and using a plastic rod as a weapon on Thomas St.

Last week, he also entered guilty pleas at the Dublin Children's Court to drug dealing and firearms offences. Judge Ann Ryan remanded the boy on continuing bail.



SF councillor's son attacked

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has admitted to taking part in a vicious attack on the son of a Dublin SF councillor.

The teenager pleaded guilty at the Dublin Children's Court to assault causing harm to 18-year-old Ruairi Devine on the South Circular Road, Dublin, on January 26.

Judge Ann Ryan remanded the teenager on continuing bail.
