Robber dad back to jail

A 38-YEAR-OLD man convicted of robbing sports centres, GAA clubs, rugby clubs, hotels and leisure centres in north Dublin has had part of his sentence reactivated.

Dad-of-three Alan Judge, from Coultry Road, Ballymun, had been sentenced in 2010 to a seven-year jail term with the final four years suspended.

However on July 9, 2012, he pleaded guilty to having robbed €500 in cash from Rush Golf Club on January 5.

Judge Patrick McCartan at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court agreed to an application to re-activate the original suspended part of the sentence of four years.
