Reveller in random assault, court told

A REVELLER is alleged to have punched another man in the face and repeatedly kicked him when he fell to the ground in a random attack near a nightclub.

Keith O'Callaghan (20) allegedly left the victim with a black eye and bruising to his face and body following the roadside assault.

Judge Patrick Brady adjourned the matter for two weeks to allow gardai to provide the witness statements to O'Callaghan's solicitor.

The defendant, of Mourne Court in Skerries, appeared before Swords District Court charged with seriously assaulting another young male. The alleged incident took place at Airside Retail Park, Swords, around 2.30am on September 9 last year.

Defence solicitor Laura Shannon was assigned on free legal aid. Judge Brady adjourned the matter for two weeks so Ms Shannon can speak to her client.
