A Man who ran into a pharmacy and grabbed the contents of the till was filmed on CCTV as he left the shop, a court heard.
Anthony Cooney (22) was desperate for money to buy heroin, as he was battling a serious drug problem at the time of the incident.
Cooney, of Cushlawn Drive in Tallaght, admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to a single count of theft.
He was sentenced to four months in prison.
The incident took place at Bradley's Pharmacy, Lower Kilmacud Road in Stillorgan on May 21 last year.
Garda Sergeant Mary Diskin said Cooney and an accomplice entered the pharmacy shortly before 6pm.
They were armed with an implement which they used to prise open the till, taking €95 worth of coins and notes.
Cooney's accomplice has denied the charge.
The court heard Cooney had 18 previous convictions.
