Pensioner on husband stabbing charge
A PENSIONER charged with assaulting and injuring her 75-year-old husband, who suffered a stab wound, has had her case adjourned after a court heard she is in treatment.
Philomena Moloney (69) is alleged to have breached a protection order by assaulting Bernard Moloney at their home at Monksfield Downs, Clondalkin, on April 20 last.
She is also charged with assault causing harm to Mr Moloney.
Blanchardstown District Court heard the DPP was seeking an adjournment for directions to be made available.
Ms Moloney was not present and Judge David McHugh adjourned the case in her absence to a date in September.
Judge McHugh advised defence solicitor John O'Doherty that Ms Moloney was to stay in treatment until further notice.
Previously, Garda Siobhan O'Sullivan of Ballyfermot Station told Judge McHugh that the accused made no reply to the charges after caution.

Garda O'Sullivan said Mrs Moloney allegedly breached a protection order and assaulted her husband, who received a stab wound to the stomach, causing damage to his liver.
She said Mr Moloney was being treated at Beaumont Hospital and was "living in fear".
A bail condition was that Mrs Moloney stays away from the alleged victim and other witnesses.
Mr O'Doherty said at the time of his bail application the accused did not have a new address.
Judge McHugh remanded her in custody with consent to bail on her own bond of €300.
