Neighbour in noise dispute

A man who threatened to damage his neighbour's house after he came home drunk from a wedding was irritated by the music being played, a court heard.

Paul Adamson (46) admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to making threats to damage his neighbour's house, and to trespassing on that property in a manner which was likely to cause fear. The incident took place at Hillbrook Woods in Blanchardstown on August 29 last year. The judge fined Adamson €300 and bound him to the peace for a year.

Drug teen 'has settled down'

A TEENAGER who told a court that he used cannabis every day for years claimed that he had now settled down with his girlfriend.

Declan Stubbs (19), of Avonbeg Gardens, Tallaght, admitted before Tallaght District Court to driving without insurance or road tax on November 18, 2008.

He also admitted having cannabis resin at Mount Seskin Court, Tallaght. He was fined €1,500 and banned from driving for four years.

Heroin dealer gets five years

A DRUG dealer who "played the system" by claiming he was drug-free has been jailed for five years for heroin possession.

Declan Martin (37), of Markievicz House in Dublin 2, pleaded guilty to having €3,000 of heroin, which gardai saw him throwing into a bin.

"This is a man who plays the system," said Justice Patrick McCartan, rejecting his claims to have given up drugs.
