A MOTHER of two hid DIY goods in a child's buggy and walked out of the shop without paying for them, a court heard.
A defence lawyer said Amanda Kearney (27) is struggling to cope with raising her two children on her own, as her partner is serving a long-term sentence.
Judge Anthony Halpin ordered Kearney to enter into a peace bond for one year.
The defendant, of Sundale Close, Tallaght, admitted before Tallaght District Court to a charge of theft.
Gda Sgt Carmel Henry said Kearney and a female accomplice entered Woodies at Whitestown Way in Tallaght shortly before 7pm last October 9 and stole various items worth €198.
Sgt Henry said Kearney hid the goods in her child's buggy and made no effort to pay.
