A TEENAGER charged with murdering schoolgirl Michaela Davis in Dublin last month has appeared in court for the third time.
Jonathan Byrne (18), of Lohunda Downs, Clonsilla, in Dublin was before Cloverhill District Court yesterday accused of killing the 12-year-old in the early hours of Saturday, August 28.
Byrne, who wore a white shirt and black trousers, did not speak during the brief court hearing. Det Sgt Daniel Callaghan said there was consent to the defendant being remanded in custody.
Judge MacGrath made the order and further remanded the teenager in custody until Tuesday, October 12.
On the night of her death, Michaela was reported missing shortly after 2am. She had left her home in the Village development in the Blanchardstown area around two hours earlier.
Her body was found later that day in undergrowth on a bank of the Royal Canal.
