A DUBLIN man has been sentenced to six years in jail for a crime spree which targeted elderly women including a 93-year-old who was slapped and kicked in a raid on her home.
William O'Gorman (36) also mugged a 70-year-old woman while she was in church and robbed another elderly woman's shopping bag.
Other offences during the month-long crime spree included robbing a barbershop at knife point and locking a woman in a funeral home after a robbery. O'Gorman of Brackenwood Avenue, Balbriggan, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. All the offences were in Balbriggan.
Filming to start here on thriller
Clive Owen and Andrea Riseborough are to star in a new spy thriller set during the peace process in Northern Ireland in the 1990s.
The film, based on Tom Bradby's novel Shadow Dancer, will be directed by James Marsh, who made the Oscar-winning documentary Man On Wire.
Marsh confirmed the film is about to start filming in Dublin in May.
Riseborough will star as former IRA terrorist turned MI5 informer Colette McVeigh. Owen portrays her MI5 handler.
