Man spat at gardai in arrest at home

A YOUNG man who spat and kicked out at two gardai was upset after he claimed officers pulled his teenage sister out of bed and brought her downstairs in her underwear.

Christopher Lambe and two gardai crashed through a coffee table after he lashed out at them when they tried to arrest him. Gda Sgt Brian Cagney said Lambe began spitting at him.

Lambe (23) claimed gardai laughed at his 19-year-old sister after they dragged her out of her bed and brought her downstairs in her bra and knickers during the incident at Rossfield Avenue in Tallaght after officers executed a search warrant on November 9 last year.

The defendant was found guilty before Tallaght District Court of assaulting Garda Sergeant Brian Cagney and Garda Niall Russell as well as obstructing gardai.

Judge John Coughlan imposed a five-month sentence.
