A DUBLIN man has appeared in court accused of threatening staff in a pharmacy with a screwdriver and demanding that they hand over money.
Thomas McGuinness (33) is alleged to have escaped with €169 in cash following the robbery in Clondalkin. A court heard that gardai arrived on the scene after staff activated a panic alarm.
A garda witness alleged the accused was later identified from the store's CCTV footage.
Judge David McHugh remanded McGuinness on bail with strict conditions to appear before the court again in March.
The accused, of Decies Road in Ballyfermot, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with robbery.
The alleged incident took place at Lloyds Pharmacy, Chaplins Place, on January 21.
Judge McHugh adjourned the matter for DPP's directions.
