Man on bail over €27k club theft

A DUBLIN man accused of stealing €27,000 in cash from a safe during a break-in at a Dublin nightclub has been remanded on continuing bail for DPP's directions on the charge.

Bernard Foran (40) is alleged to have taken the cash from a locked safe at Bad Bob's club in Temple Bar after getting into the manager's office through a fire escape.

He was allegedly identified as the culprit after CCTV footage of the incident was viewed by gardai.

Judge Denis McLoughlin remanded Foran on continuing bail to a date in October.

As part of his bail conditions, the accused must stay out of Dublin 1, 2 and 8.

Foran, formerly from Finglas South but with an address at Maple House, North Circular Road, Dublin 1, appeared before Dublin District Court charged with trespass with intent to commit an offence.

The burglary is alleged to have happened at Bad Bob's, Essex Street, on August 11 last.
