A MAN who was caught driving for a seventh time without insurance has been sentenced to four months in prison.
Paul Farrelly (25) was also disqualified for eight years.
Farrelly, of The Square, Lucan, pleaded guilty at Blanchardstown District Court to driving without insurance, failing to give his name and address and driving without a licence last January 17.
Gda Ciaran Meade told the court he stopped Farrelly at a checkpoint. He had no insurance displayed and gave him an incorrect name. When he checked the registration, he found it was registered to Farrelly.
He said Farrelly has 19 previous convictions, including six for driving without insurance.
Judge David McHugh said community service would not be the way he would be going with the sentencing of Farrelly and imposed a four-month prison sentence.
