Man had heroin in underpants

A MAN found with heroin in the waistband of his underpants has said he has hit "rock bottom" and needs help to combat his addictions.

Mark Daynes (25), with an address at Fernwood Avenue, Tallaght, admitted before Tallaght District Court to possession of heroin.

The incident took place on Main Street, Blessington, on September 8, 2008.

The street value of the drugs was €150. He was fined €150.

Neighbour shot at youth

A METAL sheet worker fired a pellet gun at a young neighbour after he climbed up onto his back garden wall, a court heard.

Paul Dolan (24) left the youth with two bruises to his chest and shoulder. Dolan said he saw his neighbour climb up onto the back wall and shouted at him to get down. He fired the pellets at the youth when he failed to get off the wall.

Dolan, with an address in St Margaret's, near Swords, admitted before Swords District Court to a charge of assault. The incident took place at his home shortly before 9pm on May 29, 2008.

The judge fined him €750.
