Man fined for attack on bouncer and garda

A FATHER-of-two gripped a pub doorman and a garda by the throat after a row with his girlfriend at the premises and "things escalated", a court heard.

Raymond McCormack (35) took exception to being refused entry back into the pub after the row with his partner and attacked the bouncer and garda.

Judge James Faughnan fined him €500 after convicting him at Dublin District Court.

McCormack, with an address at South Circular Road, Dublin 8 admitted assaulting the pub doorman Michael Maher, and Garda Lorcan Tighe at Coffey's pub, Emmet Road, Inchicore on December 26, 2013.

Garda Tighe said McCormack had been an intoxicated state.
