Man faces trial over firearms seizure

A man has pleaded not guilty to firearms charges after an air pistol and ammunition were allegedly seized at his home.

Henry Fadipe (23) appeared in Blanchardstown district court on charges arising from a garda search at his west Dublin house.

Judge David McHugh adjourned the case against him for hearing on a date in May.

Mr Fadipe, with an address at Mount Andrew Crescent, Lucan, is charged with possession of a 6mm-calibre ASG make Dan Wesson model C02-powered air pistol and 6mm plastic ball bearings.

The offences are alleged to have happened at his home on June 8 last.

Judge McHugh accepted jurisdiction to deal with the charges at District Court level.

The defendant was remanded on continuing bail.
