Man faces trial over assault on his brother

A DUBLIN man accused of producing a gold bullet during the course of assaulting his brother is facing trial.

Mark Fagan (31) is also alleged to have made threats to his brother's girlfriend, showing her the bullet and telling her he hoped her brother "can dodge one of these".

The accused, of Huntstown Court in Huntstown, where the incident is alleged to have taken place on April 29 last, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with assaulting his brother, Jonathan Fagan.

The DPP has directed summary disposal of the matter in the District Court.

Judge David McHugh refused jurisdiction of the charges and adjourned the matter for six weeks.
