Man faces trial over €24k LIDL ROBBERY

A lawyer for Jason Douglas (24) asked that the date of the accused's next Circuit Court appearance not be disclosed as there are threats on his life.

The accused, with a previous address at Poodle Close in Crumlin, appeared before Tallaght District Court charged with robbery at Lidl, Grange Road in Rathfarnham on May 16 last.

It is alleged that he and an accomplice stole €24,556 from the store.

Douglas is also charged with using a Volkswagen Golf without the consent of the owner at Lidl car park on the same day.

The book of evidence has been served on the accused, who goes forward to the present sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Douglas was granted legal aid. Judge John Lindsay ordered that a video copy of an interview which gardai conducted with Douglas be furnished to his legal team.
