Man accused of smashing spree in house

A YOUNG man alleged to have broken into a house armed with a knife has been sent forward for trial.

Thomas Haide (22) is alleged to have smashed up the front windows in the house in Tallaght, as well as damaging a locker in the hallway.

He is facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court after the matters were ruled to be too serious for the District Court.

Haide, with addresses at Raheen Road in Tallaght and Ballymany Mews, Newbridge, Co Kildare, appeared before Tallaght District Court charged with aggravated burglary and criminal damage at Rathminton Crescent in Tallaght on October 23 last year.

The court heard that Haide is unemployed and on social welfare. He was given the alibi caution.
