Garda Damien Reilly said Hilton was abusive to the driver, there was an altercation and he threw a can of beer at him.

Hilton was identified through CCTV footage.

Hilton also admitted stealing a bottle of Old Spice aftershave, valued at €120, from the Killinarden Pharmacy on October 13 last year.

The court heard Hilton has 87 previous convictions, including 20 previous for theft.

Defence solicitor Kevin Tunney said the defendant suffers from psychiatric problems. Hilton had a partner and four children but lost them to due to his illness. He hasn't seen them in eight months.
