Man (22) denies serious assault in city incident

A DUBLIN man has denied seriously assaulting another man in an incident in the city centre.

Philip Maloney (22) had the case against him adjourned when he appeared in Dublin District Court.

Maloney, of Stanaway Road, Crumlin, is charged with assault causing harm to a man at Camden Row.

The assault, under Section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act is alleged to have happened on February 10, 2012.

The court heard a medical report on the alleged victim's injuries was available.

This means it will by tried without a jury in the district court instead of being sent for trial to Dublin circuit criminal court.

Judge Victor Blake adjourned the case to October 23.
