Judge lifts style guru's two-year drive ban

CELEBRITY stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick has had a two-year driving disqualification order set aside. The TV personality was put off the road for not having insurance last January but a judge has now dropped the sanction.

At Dun Laoghaire District Court yesterday, her solicitor Ronnie Lynam applied to Judge John Lyndsey to set aside the order because Ms Fitzpatrick was actually insured when she was stopped by a garda on April 29, 2009.

The court heard that Ms Fitzpatrick did not produce evidence of insurance cover when asked by Garda Geraldine McManigan at the N11, Galloping Green, Stillorgan, Co Dublin.

The disqualification order for two years was made after Ms Fitzpatrick of Kerrymount Avenue, Foxrock, Co Dublin failed to answer the offence.

Mr Lynam said that his client believed she had produced her insurance documents at Cabinteely Garda Station prior to the court hearing.
