Jobless youth (20) caught trespassing by gardai on nightclub roof, court told

THIS is the young man who was allegedly found by gardai on the roof of a nightclub during the early hours of the morning.

Jason Murray (20), pictured right, appeared before Tallaght District Court charged with criminal trespass at Rodeo Joe's nightclub, Churchtown on May 22 last.

Garda John Dalton alleged that Murray, of Rockfield Park in Bray, was found on the flat roof of the nightclub shortly after 1am.

The court heard that Murray was on social welfare and hadn't worked for more than two years.

Judge James McDonnell assigned defence solicitor John O'Leary on free legal aid.

Garda Dalton said there was no CCTV footage of the incident, as the club's CCTV cameras did not cover the roof.

Judge McDonnell ordered that any documents or statements be disclosed to the defence and adjourned the matter to a date in February so Murray could speak to his solicitor.
