Immigrant didn't know passport was a fake

AN immigrant who tried to apply for a visa with a fake passport that he "got from a friend" has been cleared of possession of a fraudulent document.

Boliface Gbadjav (37) was found not guilty by a judge, who said she had a doubt that he knew the passport was false at the time he used it.

He had presented the document at the Garda National Immigration Bureau where it was seized when it was established that it was not valid.

Gbadjav, of Woodland Drive, Collegewood, Mallow, Co Cork pleaded not guilty at Dublin District Court.
