Hurt horseman awarded €126k

A MAN whose horse-riding career was ended after he was injured in an accident at a farm where he worked has been awarded €126,000 damages by the High Court.

Robin Quinn's wrist was broken and his right arm smashed when a horse he was bringing back to the stables after a run-out became spooked.

The court heard the animal went out of control and attempted to jump a gate.

Mr Quinn (34) fell from the horse, which then landed on top of him.

He had sued Jane Bradbury, who buys, breeds and breaks in horses in Co Wicklow and James Bradbury, who has a stables in Co Wicklow, over the accident in November 2005.
