Garda-bite woman's €155 theft

A WOMAN who was jailed almost two-and-a-half years ago for biting a garda has appeared before the courts again charged with robbery.

Sandra Pepper (41) of Kilclare Drive, Tallaght, had been sentenced to two years in prison in November 2007 by Judge Desmond Hogan after she pleaded guilty to assaulting Garda Padraig Mullarkey on December 2, 2006.

She has now pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to robbery of €155 from the Statoil Garage on Old Belgard Road, in Tallaght, on February 3, 2008.

Judge Patricia Ryan adjourned the sentencing of Pepper in her absence after David Whelehan, defending, said his client was now attending a residential drug treatment programme, which he said was due to finish this month.

Pepper was remanded on continuing bail to next May.
