Four face trial on kidnap and ransom charge

THESE are the four men who allegedly falsely imprisoned another young man, threatened to kill him and then demanded cash for his safe return.

Ibrahim Moradi (21), Jalal Moradi (23), Adnan Mohamadzadeh (22) and Kamaran Mohamadzadeh (25) are alleged to have falsely imprisoned the man and taken him on a journey through parts of the west and south of Dublin city.

It is alleged they demanded €900 in cash for his safe return.

The men have been ordered to stay away from the alleged victim for the duration of the case. They have also been told to stay out of the Dublin 15 area of the city.

They are facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court, where the penalties are potentially greater, after the DPP ruled that the matters were too serious for the District Court.

Ibrahim Moradi, of Birchwood Heights, and Jalal Moradi, of Pine Lawn, both in Tallaght, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with falsely imprisoning another man.

The alleged incident took place at McDonald's car park, in Tallaght, and Main Street, Blanchardstown, on June 25.

Adnan Mohamadzadeh, of Allen Hall, Belgard Square, in Tallaght, and Kamaran Mohamadzadeh, of North Frederick Street, Dublin 1, are also charged with false imprisonment.

The men, who are from Kurdistan, are further accused of making threats to kill or cause serious injury to the alleged victim and demanding cash with menaces for his safe return.

A State solicitor said the book of evidence was ready and had been served on the accused men who go forward to the present sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
