Father is accused of armed assault

A FATHER of one who allegedly attacked a man and a woman while armed with a knife has been sent forward for trial.

Doger Rose (44) is alleged to have produced a knife during the course of seriously assaulting the individuals in Tyrrelstown on September 20, 2011.

He is facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court where the penalties are potentially greater after the DPP ruled the matters were too serious for the District Court.

The accused, of Maple Drive in Castleknock, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with seriously assaulting a man and a woman.

Judge Hugh O'Donnell remanded Rose on bail in his own bond of €300.
