Dutchmanaccused of apartmentmurder

A DUTCHman has appeared in court charged with murdering a man whose body was found several days after his death at an apartment in north Dublin.

Jacky Lumi (41) was remanded in custody after no bail application was made on his behalf by his lawyer.

Lumi, who has no fixed address, is charged with murdering Kamal El Habsati (31) at Linn Bhla apartments, Ballymun, on December 1.

The victim's body had several stab wounds when it was found at his home by gardai.

Detective Garda Damien Rogers told Dublin District Court he arrested Mr Lumi at Ballymun Garda Station at 1.16pm on December 14.

The detective asked Judge Cormac Dunne to delete the accused's given address from the charge sheet and insert the words "no fixed abode".

This was done by the judge.

Mr Lumi's solicitor, Philip Hannon, said his client "suffers from depression" and asksed for "appropriate medical attention". The Judge made the order.

Gda Rogers asked the judge to remand the accused in custody for a week, to appear on December 21.
