Drunken woman tried to get into cars

A WOMAN drunkenly tried to get into strangers' cars while running up a busy Dublin road in her dressing gown, a court heard.

Kathleen Cawley (26) caused a traffic obstruction on a main road in the west of the city and had to be arrested for her own safety and that of motorists.

She was fined €100 at Blanchardstown District Court.

Cawley, of Rossfield Park, Tallaght, was convicted of public intoxication and obstructing traffic at Fonthill Road, Clondalkin, last December 29.

The charges are under the Public Order and Road Traffic Acts. She had 43 previous convictions.

Judge David McHugh imposed the fine and conviction in her absence.
