Driver who flouted ban fined €1,500

A BANNED driver who gardai spotted behind the wheel of a car pulled into another person's driveway in an attempt to evade officers, a court heard.

Kilson Lowa (23) didn't know the owners of the house, and he gave gardai a false address when they asked him where he lived. He was already serving a lengthy driving ban when gardai stopped him for driving without insurance.

Lowa, of MacUilliam Way, Tallaght, admitted before Tallaght District Court to two counts of driving without insurance or a driving licence. He also admitted to giving gardai a false address.

The first incident took place at Carrigmore Drive in Tallaght on February 4, 2010.

Judge James McDonnell fined Lowa a total of €1,500, banned him from driving for five years and sentenced him to six months in prison suspended for two years.
