A PAINTER and decorator asked to move a van by a temporary employer was afraid he would lose his job if he told him he was banned from driving, court heard.
Daniel McLoughlin (26) "panicked" and gave a false name to gardai because he knew he shouldn't have been driving.
Judge David McHugh banned McLoughlin from driving for four years, fined him €200 and ordered him to complete 200 hours community service.
The defendant, of Wellview Avenue in Mulhuddart, admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to driving without insurance or a driving licence and providing gardai with a false name on October 7, 2014.
The court heard McLoughlin was serving a four-year driving ban at the time and he "panicked" when he saw gardai.
