customer left without paying bill after row

A DINER who left a Dublin restaurant without paying for his meal had been chasing after his girlfriend after the couple argued over dinner.

Daniel Young (31) was arrested over the unpaid €75 bill when gardai later caught up with him.

Judge Michael Walsh fined him €200 at Dublin District Court after he admitted a theft charge.

Young, with an address at Donaghmede Road, pleaded guilty to making off without paying for the meal at FXB, Crowe Street on January 4 last.

The defendant had been having dinner with his girlfriend when there was a row, she stood up and left the building and he was so angry he just left and he pursued her, his lawyer said.
