A DUBLIN youth (17), who allegedly put a knife to the throat of a care worker and threatened to stab her following a row about a DVD, has been returned for trial.
The teenager had been charged at the Dublin Children's Court with causing €1,100 worth of criminal damage to the woman's car by scraping the paintwork, on a date last December.
He also faces connected charges for threatening to kill or cause serious harm to the woman, as well as production of a kitchen knife and holding it to her throat, on the same date. The teenager, who is in care, has since moved to a different facility, and "made no reply" when he was charged with the offences.
The judge held that the case should be sent forward to the Circuit Court, with the boy's next hearing on November 22.
