Biker (20) banned for six years

A YOUNG man has been put off the road for six years after he dangerously drove a motorcycle through a residential area while already banned.

Nathan Coakley (20) had been previously disqualified from driving for five years when he drove away from gardai at speed and was apprehended.

Coakley, of Upper Buckingham Street, Dublin 1, pleaded guilty to dangerous and uninsured driving at Marewood Crescent, Ballymun on April 3.

Garda Cathal Connolly told Dublin District Court he was on duty at 6.15pm when the accused was stopped driving a motorbike at Barnwell Drive.

He provided a false name before driving off at speed through a built-up area. Coakley took a dangerous left turn up Balbutcher Lane and was stopped and apprehended.
