Bar stool stolen in drunken prank

A REVELLER stole a bar stool from a pub where he had been drinking in what was described as a "prank while drunk".

Paul Douglas (23) was still carrying the bar stool when he was stopped by gardai some distance away from the pub.

Judge David McHugh ordered Douglas to donate €300 to Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin and said he would apply the probation act.

Douglas, of Sheephill Green in Blanchardstown, admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to stealing a pub stool.

Judge McHugh described the incident as a "prank while drunk" and said he'd leave Douglas without a conviction if he made a contribution to charity.
