THE State has been given more time to prepare its case against a hotel worker accused of beating her former boyfriend's seven-year-old son with the handle of a mop.
The 24-year-old woman is also alleged to have thrown the child against a radiator.
She appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with wilfully assaulting a child at a house in west Dublin on April 10, 2014.
Garda Aisling Brophy previously alleged the woman punched the child, dragged him against a wall and threw him against a radiator.
She is also alleged to have beat him in the face with the handle of a mop.
The woman is facing trial in the Circuit Court and Judge McHugh adjourned the case to March for the book of evidence.
